Mahindra may unveil its next-generation electric SUV range at the ‘Freedom_NU’ event to be held in Mumbai on August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day. During this event, the company can unveil three new concept models: Vision.T, Vision.S, and Vision.SXT.
These concepts are believed to be a preview of the Thar EV, Scorpio EV, and Scorpio Pickup, respectively. Recently released teasers indicate that Mahindra is now preparing to launch its popular models in electric avatar. According to the information revealed about Vision.T, it can be seen with strong hinges on the clamshell bonnet, dark fenders, and wide tires, which reflect its hardcore 4×4 character.
This points to a new design direction different from the Thar.e concept, which could set the design language of Mahindra’s future electric off-road vehicles. Along with Vision.T, the Vision.S and Vision.SXT concepts have also been teased. The Vision.S is speculated to be a prototype of the near-production-ready Scorpio EV that could be unveiled on Independence Day.

The Vision.SXT is believed to be a refined, near-production version of the Scorpio N Pickup concept that was showcased at the Futurescape event in South Africa in 2023. The Vision.SXT tagline “A vision designed for bold adventures” refers to its off-road capabilities and adventure-ready nature. The naming of both Vision.S and Vision.SXT indicates that these models will be associated with the Scorpio series.

Mahindra is working not only on these three electric models but also on an all-new platform that could form the basis of many electric vehicles in the coming years. Apart from this, the new generation Bolero as well as updated versions of the XUV700 and three-door Thar are also being tested, which have been spotted on the roads in recent weeks.
The company is also working on a compact electric SUV based on the XUV 3XO, while a new electric model called the XEV 7e is also being developed. With all these concepts and upcoming production versions, Mahindra is building a futuristic product portfolio combining its traditional identity with modern electric technology.
The teaser strategy of Vision.T, Vision.S, and Vision.SXT confirms that Mahindra is seriously investing in the field of electric mobility, and its focus is not only on urban vehicles but also on off-roading and pickup segments.
