To give a new shock to the sporty scooter segment in India, Aprilia has started sending its new SR 175 to dealerships even before its launch. The official launch of this powerful scooter is expected in July, and it can replace the current SR 160.
The SR 175 is equipped with a 174.7cc single-cylinder, 3-valve engine, which is capable of producing around 12.9 horsepower at 7,200 rpm and 14.1Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. This means that it will get more power and torque than the SR 160, which will give a fast and refined riding experience on city roads.
The SR 175 will get an all-new TFT instrument console, which has already been seen in the RS 457 and Tuono 457. It will have advanced features like turn-by-turn navigation with Bluetooth connectivity, call alerts and scooter control from smartphone app. This takes the scooter to a new height technologically.

Talking about the design, the SR 175 clearly reflects the influence of Aprilia’s racing style. It resembles the SR 160 but comes with some new dual-tone color options and sharp styling elements, which make it even more attractive on the roads.
Although the company has not yet revealed the hardware specifications, it is likely that like the SR 160, it will get telescopic front forks, rear monoshock and strong chassis, which will give it a balanced and stable riding experience.
The units of the scooter have reached the dealerships, which makes it clear that the launch is not far away. Its starting ex-showroom price could be around ₹ 1.31 lakh, which will put it in the premium performance scooter segment.
