Hyundai and Kia are set to make a big splash in the Indian automobile market once again. Between 2025 and 2026, these two Korean brands are going to introduce a total of 5 new models, covering both electric and hybrid segments. This strategy is coming at a time when Hyundai’s market share has reached its lowest level in the last 12 years.

1. Kia Clavis EV – Entry in July 2025

The interior will feature a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and Level 2 ADAS. The engine options will remain the same old – 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel.

The next-gen model of the Kia Seltos will be based on the company’s ‘Opposites United’ design theme. After a global debut in late 2025, it is likely to arrive in India in early 2026.

The new Seltos will have:

  • Vertical LED DRLs
  • Large concave grille (inspired by Telluride)
  • Full-width rear LED light bar
  • Multi-link rear suspension in some variants

The most important feature will be the 1.6-litre hybrid engine, which will produce around 141hp of power, this system is taken from the Hyundai Kona Hybrid.

5. Hyundai Creta Hybrid – The brand’s first hybrid SUV

Hyundai will also offer the Creta in a hybrid avatar for the first time. This offering is being made keeping in mind the rising petrol prices and increasing user demand for mileage.

Through these five new launches, Hyundai and Kia are moving rapidly towards electrifying their lineup. While Kia is in a strong position with 19.3% year-on-year growth in March 2025, Hyundai is making this big bet in an attempt to regain its lost market share.

With these launches, competition in India’s EV and hybrid market is going to become more intense.
