Major changes in headlights and front design
For the first time, production-spec headlights have been seen in the XUV700 facelift, which are sleeker than the current model. They have separate chambers for low and high beam, which are likely to have LED projectors. Although LED DRLs are not seen in these pictures, they are also expected to come in a new design. Also, the front bumper and grille have also been completely redesigned. Cornering function is likely to be available in the fog lights.

No major changes seen in the side and rear profile
In the models seen during testing, the side profile and rear design look almost similar to the current model. From this, it is speculated that most of the changes in the facelift will be limited to the front and interior.

New alloy wheel designs and interior changes
The latest video shows two test mules with different alloy wheel designs. This suggests that there could be different designs for different variants or drivetrain options (FWD and AWD). 18-inch wheels are still expected, but a 19-inch option cannot be ruled out as these are available in Tata’s rival SUVs.
A new triple-screen dashboard setup is also seen in the interior, which is designed keeping tech-savvy users in mind.
No change in engine
The same existing engine options will continue in the XUV700 facelift –
- 2.0 liter turbo petrol engine (197 bhp, 380 Nm torque)
- 2.2 liter turbo diesel engine (182 bhp, 450 Nm torque)
These will get both manual and automatic gearbox options, and AWD option will also be available.
Speculation of name change to XUV7XO
Given Mahindra’s new naming policy, it is also being speculated that the company may rename the XUV700 to XUV7XO, although this is not yet officially confirmed.
The Mahindra XUV700 has already been India’s most advanced D segment SUV, and now its facelift version can bring it back into the summer once again. There is no official information about the launch timeline yet, but this facelift is considered to be one of the most awaited car launches in the country.
