Maruti Suzuki’s first electric SUV is all set to hit the Indian roads, but even before the launch, there has been a new twist to its name. Initially, this compact EV was showcased as the eVX concept, then it came to be known as eVitara. But recently, an “eEscudo” badge was spotted on its testing model, which has led to speculations that the company may change its name at the last minute. It is worth noting that the Escudo name has already been used for Vitara models in the Japanese market, and the eVitara name has already been registered in the UK.

Talking about the design, this SUV has a lot of premium elements – like three-point matrix LED DRLs that are beautifully integrated with the headlamp unit. Apart from this, the piano black finish given in the center of the headlight gives it an exclusive look. Nexa branding on the rear windshield and newly designed LED taillamps, as well as strong C-pillars and 18-inch alloy wheels, give it a futuristic stance.

In terms of features, the Maruti Suzuki eVitara or possibly eEscudo is expected to get:
- Ventilated front seats
- 10-way electric adjustable driver seat
- Slide and reclining rear seats
- Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System)
- 360-degree camera
- Wireless charging pad
- Keyless entry
- Ride-by-wire technology
- 7 airbags
- Ambient lighting
