Maruti Suzuki’s First Electric SUV Launching Soon in India: Features May Surprise You

Maruti Suzuki is soon going to launch its first electric SUV e-Vitara in the Indian market. Its launch date has been fixed for September 3 and this vehicle was first showcased at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Even before the launch, the company has shared almost all its important features and technical information.

Maruti Suzuki’s First Electric SUV e-Vitara Launching Soon in India Soon

e-Vitara will come with two battery options. The first is a 49 kWh battery pack, which will give a range of 346 km according to the WLTP test. The second option is 61 kWh, in which the range of the single motor variant goes up to 428 km. At the same time, the estimated range of the all-wheel drive version with dual motor is said to be 412 km.

Talking about power output, the 49 kWh variant gives 142 bhp and 192.5 Nm of torque, while the single motor model with 61 kWh battery gets 172 bhp power. The dual motor version is the most powerful, which will come with 178 bhp and 300 Nm of torque.

In terms of design, the e-Vitara has been given a premium and bold look. Its front has three-point matrix LED daytime running lights integrated with the headlamps. Apart from this, Piano Black finish has been given between the headlight units, which looks quite attractive. Nexa branding has been given at the rear and 18-inch alloy wheels, strong C-pillars and new LED taillights further enhance its style.

Talking about the interior, the cabin has been presented in dual-tone brown and black finish. The steering wheel now has a new two-spoke design. On the technology front, it has a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Apart from this, leatherette seats, fixed glass roof and advanced features have been used extensively.

Features include ventilated front seats, 10-way adjustable driver seat, slide and reclining rear seats, 7 airbags, level-2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, keyless entry, ride-by-wire technology and ambient lighting.

This first electric SUV from Maruti will challenge popular vehicles like Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra BE 6 and MG ZS EV in India. Being one of the largest auto companies in the country, expectations are very high for the e-Vitara. If priced competitively, this model can prove to be a big game changer in the market.
