Maruti Suzuki may soon add some major safety updates to its popular 4×4 SUV Jimny. According to a report by creative311.com, the company is working on a mid-life update for the Japanese version of this SUV, which will include many advanced safety features.
These potential new features include modern ADAS systems like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Reverse Brake Support, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Traffic Sign Recognition System. Although these updates are currently expected only for the Japan-spec Jimny, according to reports, these features may also be introduced in the Indian model later.
The Jimny, which is sold as the Suzuki Nomade in Japan, has become an important part of the company’s export business. More than 1 lakh units of this SUV have been exported since its launch in 2018, which gives an idea of its global demand.

This SUV is also gaining popularity rapidly in India. Recently, the Indian Army has also added it to its fleet, which shows its strong performance and reliable capability.
Technically, the Jimny is powered by a 1.5-liter K15B petrol engine that generates 104 hp of power and 134.2 Nm of torque. It has 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic transmission options, making it a reliable SUV in both city and off-road conditions.
If these new safety updates are introduced in India as well, the Jimny will emerge as an even smarter and safer SUV – especially for those who are fond of off-roading and are looking for a technology-friendly vehicle.
