Maruti Suzuki has given a major update to its popular premium MPV XL6 in terms of safety. The company has now made 6 airbags standard in all variants of XL6, which has improved its safety level significantly. This decision has been taken under the new recommendations of the Ministry of Road Transport of India (MoRTH), which plans to make 6 airbags mandatory in new passenger vehicles by October 2025.

Slight Increase in Price

Due to this safety upgrade, the prices of XL6 have increased marginally by 0.8%. Now its ex-showroom price starts at Rs 11.92 lakh. There is a difference of Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000 in the price depending on the variant.

More Safety Features

Apart from 6 airbags, XL6 already has many advanced safety features, such as ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), seat belt reminder, tire pressure monitoring system, rear window defogger and 360 degree camera. This means that the safety level of XL6 has become stronger according to Indian roads and customer needs.

Engine and Variants

There is no change in the technical specification – XL6 gets the same 1.5-liter petrol engine that generates 102hp power and 137Nm torque. There is an option of both 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox for transmission. Apart from this, the company also offers CNG variants for economy lovers.

New Standard of Safety in Nexa line-up

XL6 is the latest MPV to join the Nexa and Arena portfolio with this new safety policy; earlier 6 airbags have been made standard in models like Ertiga, Baleno, Swift, Dzire, Brezza, Grand Vitara, Jimny, and Invicto.

Final Verdict

If you are thinking of buying a premium MPV, then now XL6 has become even safer, which further strengthens the confidence of your family’s safety. This update not only fulfils the company’s value for money promise but also raises the bar for safety standards in the Indian car market.

The new Maruti Suzuki XL6 offers improved safety, premium design and unparalleled trust – now smarter, stronger and an excellent choice for the family!
