Mercedes-Benz has launched its flagship electric sedan, the EQS 580, in India with a new style, which has been named the Celebration Edition. The ex-showroom price of this special version is ₹1.30 crores (approximately $155,000 USD), and it has been specially designed keeping in mind those who give the highest priority to the experience of driving from the rear seat. Mercedes has clarified that this edition will be limited to only 50 units in India, which means it is not only a luxury car but also a special piece for collectors.

The biggest change made in this limited edition EQS is aimed at elevating rear-seat comfort to an entirely new level. Mercedes has included a chauffeur package, which is usually seen in ultra-luxury cars like the Maybach. Under this package, the front passenger seat can be electronically folded forward to give more space to the rear passenger. The rear seats can now be reclined up to 38 degrees and feature a massage function along with adjustable lumbar support.
The EQS 580 Celebration Edition is launched in the ‘Manufaktur Graphite Grey’ paint scheme, which differentiates it from the regular EQS. The ‘Celebration’ branding is given on the C-pillar of the car, which instantly reinforces the feeling of exclusivity. Mercedes-Benz says that this version aims to deliver a premium and customised experience to customers.
The Celebration Edition comes with the same setup as the regular EQS 580 4MATIC. It has a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, which generates 516bhp of power and 855Nm of torque. This car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.3 seconds.

It is equipped with a large 107.8kWh battery pack, which delivers a certified range of up to 857 kilometres, as per ARAI. This is one of the longest ranges offered by any EV currently available in India. Mercedes has not compromised on charging either, this car supports 200kW DC fast charging, enabling it to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 31 minutes.
According to Mercedes-Benz India, this special edition has been manufactured under local assembly at the company’s Chakan plant in Pune. Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of the company, said that the aim of this version is to target those customers who not only believe in luxury but also live for the feeling of exclusivity.
The Celebration Edition of the EQS 580 is not just a car, it reflects the forward-thinking philosophy of Mercedes, a brand that consistently delivers something new, something special, and something remarkably stylish. This car is for those who see EVs not just as a trend but as a powerful statement of intent.
