Mercedes-Benz India has expanded its premium SUV portfolio by launching the new GLS AMG Line in India. This model is a more sporty and expressive version of the company’s popular full-size luxury SUV GLS, which is offered in two variants, GLS 450 AMG Line and GLS 450d AMG Line.

According to the company, the GLS AMG Line is inspired by the styling of Mercedes-AMG models, including several design enhancements. The front apron has been redesigned in AMG style, with sporty and large air inlets. Also, elements such as flares on the front and rear wheel arches, body-color AMG side sills, air outlets on the rear wing, and the AMG rear apron with black diffusor look and chrome trim strip give the car a distinct visual identity.

In terms of performance, the GLS 450 AMG Line is powered by a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder petrol engine, which generates 375 horsepower and 500 Nm of peak torque. At the same time, the GLS 450d AMG Line variant comes with a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder diesel engine, which generates 362 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. A 9-speed automatic transmission is standard in both variants, and the SUV takes only 6.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph. The maximum speed is limited to 250 km/h.

The petrol variant of the GLS AMG Line in India starts at Rs 1.40 crore (ex-showroom), while the diesel variant is priced at Rs 1.43 crore (ex-showroom). Mercedes-Benz India has described it as a new and sporty version of its most successful ‘Large Size Luxury SUV.’
