MG is all set to launch its new premium electric MPV, the M9, in the Indian market tomorrow. Prices for the sleek six-seater vehicle will be revealed tomorrow and it will be sold through MG’s premium ‘MG Select’ dealerships. If you are planning to make the purchase, bookings are open both in the showroom and online for Rs 51,000.

The highlight of the M9 is its extremely comfortable second row, which has been specially designed to be more spacious – placing it very high on the scale of flexibility and comfort. The vehicle gets 16-way adjustable seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions with 8 modes. For entertainment, a 12-speaker music system, 64 colours ambient lighting and a large panoramic sunroof will make every drive special.

In terms of size, the M9 is one of the longest MPVs available in India, it measures 5,270 mm in length, 3,200 mm in wheelbase, 2,000 mm in width and 1,840 mm in height. Powered by a 90 kWh battery pack that produces 245 bhp and 350 Nm of torque, it is fully electric. Expect it to be priced above Rs 90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Safety features include seven airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, tyre pressure monitoring, electronic stability control, 360-degree camera and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). There are also practical features like powered sliding doors and Auto Hold for rear passengers.

For style enthusiasts, the M9 will be available in three colour options, Cardiff Black, Luminous White and Mystic Grey. In terms of interior colours, you can choose from Pure Black and Cognac Brown upholstery.

Talking about the competition, the M9 directly competes with vehicles like Kia Carnival (new generation) and Toyota Vellfire, but its fully electric powertrain makes it different and unique.
