Hero MotoCorp is all set to give its affordable commuter segment a new turn, and this time with some features that were so far only seen in premium bikes. A new motorcycle has been spotted during testing recently, which is believed to be the next-generation Hero Glamour 125. And this time the changes are not just limited to looks, the bike has been equipped with high-end features like cruise control.

Premium Features

The first thing that catches the attention in the test mule spotted is the fully digital color LCD instrument cluster. Apart from this, new switchgear and LED turn indicators have also been seen, which make it more modern than the earlier models. But the biggest surprise is the arrival of cruise control, which is usually found in bigger bikes like Hero’s Xpulse 210, Xtreme 250R or Mavrick 440.

This move shows that Hero is now moving towards giving a premium experience to commuter bikes as well, and is ready to break the old norms of the segment.

Limited Changes in Design and Ergonomics

Although the bike was completely in camouflage, some design elements can still be recognized. The overall profile of the new Glamour 125 is still similar to that of a traditional commuter motorcycle, slim body, single-piece seat, common footpegs, saree guard, and a simple grab rail are indications of this.

No Major Change in Mechanical Setup

As far as mechanical components are concerned, the bike gets telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear, which confirms that its underpinnings are still kept traditional.

Along with this, talking about the engine setup, it will be given the same 124.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, which generates power of around 10hp and torque of 10Nm. This engine will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Launch and Competition

There has been no official announcement regarding the launch date of this new Glamour 125, but looking at the testing phase, it is estimated that it can be introduced in the market in the coming months. After its launch, it will compete directly with bikes like TVS Raider 125, which is already popular among young riders.

Conclusion

This move by Hero MotoCorp is a big indication that commuter bikes will no longer be limited to just mileage and simplicity. With new features, smart technology and better user experience, now this segment is also moving towards a premium touch. If this upcoming Glamour 125 really comes with all these features, then it can offer a great balance of technology and convenience within the budget segment.
